Playing it straight

To open an account and trade, you must:

• Be at least 18 (or older, where your local age of majority is higher).
• Be acting for yourself, with the legal capacity to enter a binding agreement.
• Not appear on any government sanctions or watch list.
• Use Predict only where it is lawful for you to do so.

We may decline, pause, or close an account that does not meet these conditions, and we may ask for proof of age or identity at any time.

Prediction-market rules differ around the world and continue to evolve. Predict makes the markets available broadly, but you are responsible for knowing whether trading is lawful where you are and for any tax you owe on your gains. If the law in a region changes, availability of a market or feature may change with it.

Every account carries a few verified signals from the moment you sign in:

• Verified email. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your inbox, so the email on file is confirmed to be yours.
• Your own wallet. A self-custodial wallet is created for you and tied to your login — the address is unique to your account.
• Region. We derive an approximate region from your connection to keep availability and fraud controls accurate.

For higher-value activity, to resolve a security flag, or where the law requires it, we may ask you to complete additional identity verification before continuing. We collect only what is needed and handle it under the Privacy Policy.

A non-custodial design does not put anyone above the rules. We screen against sanctions lists, monitor for patterns consistent with money laundering or fraud, and cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.

• Accounts linked to sanctioned parties or illicit funds are refused or closed.
• Structuring, using another person's identity, or trying to disguise the source of funds is prohibited and may be reported.
• We may request the source of funds or additional verification before releasing a hold.

The markets only mean something if the prices are honest. Each market has a stated resolution source and settles on that source's real-world outcome — not on anyone's opinion at Predict.

• No price manipulation, wash trading, or coordinated deception.
• No trading on confidential, non-public information from a resolution source.
• No trading a market whose outcome you can improperly influence.
• We monitor activity and can void trades or restrict accounts that break these rules.

• You're always in control. Funds sit in your own wallet; you can stop, withdraw, and walk away at any time.
• Set your own limits. Decide a budget before you start and hold to it. The ticket always shows the fee and the most you can lose before you confirm.
• Take breaks. If it stops being fun, close the app. Nothing expires that requires you to keep trading.
